A restoration, not just a campground
Born from forgotten woods
In 2014, this land was 40 acres of unmanaged, overlooked rural forest. With help from the USDA, Florida Forestry Service, FWC, IFAS, NRCS, and a knowledgeable private forester, we built a conservation management plan to bring it back to its native state.
When the neighboring 40 acres came up for sale, we happily doubled down. Twenty-five thousand planted pines and a great deal of sweat equity later, it's time to share this place — and invite others to join the conservation effort so it's still here for future generations.
Today you'll find planted pine stands, an orchard, untouched wetlands, walking trails, and fields planted for wildlife viewing. It's a quiet, peaceful escape — and your host is always happy to show you around and share the story in person.
Fair warning: this is a real working property. During the rainy season the grass gets a bit long, and you can expect a wide variety of agricultural activity — outside of quiet hours, of course.
